Meet John Doe [26 Oct 2006|03:20am]

[ mood | blank ]

I was wondering if anyone plans on going. I'm definately taking the trek up to CT to see her. I remember she sang a song from it in Finishing the Hat, and I'm really psyched.

Flight of the Lawnchair Man [08 Sep 2006|09:47am]

UPDATE!!! Since no one ever posts here anymore... ehhh... Donna Lynne Champlin will be reprising her role as Gracie in The Flight of the Lawnchair Man this year at the NYMF. You can get tickets from http://nymf.org/index.php , which I reccomend.

The music I've heard from this production is hilarious and GOOD. This is going to be a really awesome show!

If anyone has seen the Aussie film Danny Deckchair, it's sortof like that, except it's New Jersey, and the plot and characters are completely different. Basically, the only similarity is that they both tie balloons to a deck/lawnchair and fly away.

Yeah, so this community has fallen behind. Here are some updates!

Donna Lynne did a reprise of her show at Ars Nova, which was so incredible, and bww.com has some pictures from it:

She's also going to be in the Master Class benefit, playing Sophie. Yayyyy:

I am so sleepy, and have probably forgotten something. But... let's revive this community, okay? It's fun.

Media Fun [20 Mar 2006|08:48am]

Wow, this community has been pretty dead. Perhaps an allusion to Sweeney Todd? So I come bearing media!

I've found a video clip of Donna Lynne singing 'Not While I'm Around' (accompanying herself on piano), and another of her talking about theatre, both from this theatre program she was a guest at. That's the first link:

The second one is when she performed at Cutz at Joe's Pub, a review of songs that had been "cutz" from sucessful (or not) shows to show that even good songs don't always make it. She sang a song called 'I Am There' by William Finn, cut from A New Brain. It's such a beautiful song, and her performance is amazing. The sound doesn't match up with her, though. Sorry.

That is all. Go about your mornings.

Crazy Pirelli Smile!!! [04 Mar 2006|12:06pm]

I know many of you are on my friends list, and already saw this pic. But it's WAY too awesome, so I have to share it with this community.

The story:

I went to Sweeney Todd last night (for, like, the 11th time) and then went to the stagedoor, cause I wanted to say hi to some of the actors. When Donna Lynn came out, I told my sister I REALLY wanted a pic with Donna. She said: "Ask her to do the Pirelli smile!" Me: "Oh my god, that would be AMAZING! Do you think she'd do it?" My sister insisted, so I called Donna over, and asked: "Can I get a pic with you?" She goes: "Sure!" And I said: "And could you do the crazy Pirelli smile?" She laughed: "Really?! Sure!" She said she had to practice it, cause she never does it outside the theater (and she told me no one had ever asked her to do that!!) She asked me not to get too close to her, cause she was sick ( and she did a GREAT performance! I am in awe of her!) So we took the pic, and then she goes: "Can I see it? I have no idea what that looks like." But before I could show it to her, she goes: "No, no no no! I don't want to see it!" I laughed, and told her she's amazing, and that that smile drives me crazy! She laughed, said thank you, and then left.

So anyway, here it is (I look freakish, but I don't care!):

Best pic ever!Collapse )

Ladies and Gentlemen, may I have your attention please?

Thank you. Do you wake every morning in shame and despair - just being silly. Actually, the official Sweeney Todd revival Original Cast album is currently for sale on iTunes! I think it's something like $19, and if you aren't interested in buying the physical actual CD, then this is just right for you. Enjoy.

Welcome Wagon [09 Jan 2006|10:40pm]

Hello everyone who sees this. Welcome to the lj-community for Donna Lynne Fannellis (I love that made-up word)!!! This community was a brilliant idea of the brilliant, wonderful, and so NOT crazy msalicenutting, who started it, and I decided to jump on the bandwagon and do the layout. Two nights of stress, nail biting and insanity, we finally got the layout done. Originally, it was much nicer, but it wouldn't allow us to display the lovely header, so we had to sacrafice a little.

If you're here, you must have seen Sweeney Todd, and/or any other show that has been lucky enough to have Donna Lynne [Pirelli] Champlin, the talented woman who convinced me that Pirelli doesn't exist as a man, in it. Don't just wander in here and go "Whoa, what's a Donna Lynne? Is that a country?" or other random things, unless you're being funny, in which case go ahead. I love jokes, and funny.

So, welcome to the DLC lj community, and everybdody...LOVE msalicenutting! She's so incredible, and I love her, and owe her so much. Plus, she looks wonderful in a top hat, and knows everything there is to know about Sweeney Todd, Sondheim, etc. She also knows that Donna isn't addicted to crack. hehe. So... if this weren't on the internet, I'm sure there would be some ceremonial cutting of the ribbon. But instead, I guess you're going to have to content yourself with a lesser act of grandeur: a ceremonial clicking of the 'update' key. So... yay!

Much love,
Ally, your friendly neighborhood co-mod.
